Hoier Resources ApS was established 1 January 2008.

The main activity of the company is to develop and invest in environmental projects (primarily in waste management and recycling and in energy) mainly in developing countries.

The objectives are to develop projects that are environmentally and financially sustainable and which will benefit the developmental efforts made by the host country.

The transfer of management know how, business know how and technical know how, providing of financing, establishing of training programmes etc. are important tools used to meet the objectives.

In April this year a joint venture company between Hoier Resources and a Ghanaian partner was established in Ghana. The name of the company is Waste Recycling Ghana Ltd.

An investor group has been established including private Danish investors, The Industrialisation Fund for Developing Countries, IFU, and a Ghanaian venture capital fund. Hoier Resources is a main investor in the project and provides management and technical know how to Waste Recycling Ghana Ltd.

  • necessary permits have been received
  • purchasing and collecting of recyclable materials has begun
  • the site will be fully operational in December 2008
